TOPAZ, with the support of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, organised programme conferences in seven regions of the Czech Republic in November. Members, experts and politicians discussed the need for innovation in education, improved infrastructure, better access to healthcare and the promotion of a greener and more sustainable economy. They openly sought common solutions to develop cities and rural areas. At the Olomouc conference, Zdeňka Blišt'anová, Mayor of Jeseník, which will be dealing with the impact of the floods for a long time to come, stressed the need for more support for socially and economically vulnerable areas.
Valuable ideas and conclusions from all conferences will become the basis for further policy and strategic decision-making, reflecting the specificities and needs of each region. In December, their conclusions and recommendations will become the basis for the discussion on the TOP 09 programme for the 2025 parliamentary elections. Matěj Ondřej Havel, the chairman of the Programme Council and deputy chairman of TOP 09, who is managing the whole process, said about the conferences: "We care about the programme being authentic and realistic. Thank you for helping us to create it from below, with the help of members and experts from your region."
